2019: MyLondon posted that the flat Jane and her brother stayed in was available to rent. "Take a look inside the stunning Knightsbridge flat Jane Austen once called home", "you would never guess the flat was lived in by Jane Austen and her brother more than 200 years ago.", "It's even possible that she wrote some of Emma sitting in this very flat." They refer to the blue plaque, but clearly did not go to the trouble of reading it.

Oddly, the very same day that we came across that MyLondon post we found another property website jumping to the wrong conclusions about the history of a building - see Turner House.
