Site: John Hunter - Gateway (1 memorial)

SW17, Perimeter Road (east corner), St George's Hospital

The gateway was originally located at the entrance to St George's Hospital when it was at Hyde Park Corner. The Public Monuments & Sculpture Association has a photograph of it, when it was at Tooting but "on a traffic island in front of the main entrance to the Grosvenor Wing", before it was moved to its current, rather hidden location. The bust on top is a replica of one by Sir Alfred Gilbert, the original of which is inside this Tooting Hospital.
