Brockley and Ladywell Cemeteries - Deptford war servicemen

{On the plinth of the column:} 
Here rest the honoured remains of British soldiers, sailors, and airmen citizens of Deptford who gave their lives for their country during the Great War, 1914 - 1918.

Their name liveth evermore.

To the honoured memory of one hundred and sixty five sailors and soldiers who gave their lives for their country during the Great War, 1914 - 1918, of whom all those who have no separate headstone are commemorated here.

{On the central panel:}
On this panel are recorded the names of those members of His Majesty's forces who died in the service of their country and lie buried elsewhere in this cemetery, 1939 1945. {Followed by seven names. See Subjects commemorated.}

The letters/numbers at the end of many of the entries refer to the location of the person's grave. Each entry includes the date of death. One woman is included in the list: P. Purdy of the Women's Royal Air Force.
