Plaque

Amwell Society - original location

Erection date: 2002

Inscription

1972 The Amwell Society 2002
In memory of Carol Goddard, Irvine Gray, Norman King
St Helena Garden

The names are of three of the founding members of the Amwell Society.  Kindersley designed and carved the stone.

Site: Amwell Society (2 memorials)

EC1, Lloyd Square, St Helena Garden

The plaque was originally laid into the patio area in the garden.

2020: David Sulkin of the Amwell Society wrote to tell us that "The original position meant the weather and falling leaves in autumn degraded the lettering and so we had the stone restored and erected vertically on the side wall of the garden where it is better able to be seen." And David sent the photo of the new arrangement.
