First synagogue after resettlement

Inscription

Site of First Synagogue after the resettlement, 1657 - 1701.
Spanish & Portuguese Jews' Congregation

Sure looks like a City of London plaque but the text around the edge is different. We're guessing that the Congregation funded the plaque but the City has responsibility for its maintenance.
