Worship Street workshops

Inscription

91 - 101 Worship Street. Built as workshops and dwellings. Designed by Philip Webb, 1862. Friend and colleague of William Morris. Co-founders of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, 1877.
London Borough of Hackney

Site: Worship Street workshops (1 memorial)

EC2, Worship Street , 91-101

At the right hand end of the terrace there is a delightful and very unusual water fountain arrangement.

2018: The Telegraph included this little gem in their Unsung buildings that bring Victorian London to life. They write: "Webb usually designed large individual domestic homes but was asked to build this terrace of affordable artisans workrooms, shops and houses as a charitable commission by Lieutenant-Colonel William Gillum."

The plaque is in our picture but it's such a dull day you can't see it. Three more steps and the man will be standing in front of it.
