Site: Greathead shield at Bank (1 memorial)
EC2, Bank station, pedestrian tunnel between DLR and Waterloo & City line
We must have walked through this arch many times without properly seeing it. We thank Geoff Marshall of Londonist for enlightening us in one of his gem-like short videos 'Secrets Of The Waterloo And City Line'.
The plaque is on the ledge below the shield.
There are similar abandoned shields at both ends of the Rotherhithe Tunnel.
