Site: Swedish Church - E1 (3 memorials)

E1, The Highway, Swedenborg Gardens

When the church was here the address was Prince's Square. Our pin is positioned on the font, the boards around the trees are to the west of that. See Spitalfields Life for some evocative photographs of the run-down elegance that this area used to possess. When the church was demolished the LCC took over ownership and the Metropolitan Public Gardens Association laid it out as a garden. The Blitz then did its worst and then modern housing estate design came along.
