Clergyman. Born at 2 West Wing, Lansdown Crescent, Bath. Ordained as a priest in 1844. In 1855 he and other priests founded the Society of the Holy Cross, as an international Anglo-Catholic society of priests. He acquired land in 1860 and began raising funds for what was to become the church of St Peter's, London Docks in Wapping. Died at the Hotel Krone, Zell am See, Austria.

Non-conformist minister. Born in London. Became rich in the wool trade. Died in London. Buried in Bunhill burial ground.
Built by John Nash in the Gothic style with a tall tower. Destroyed by WW2 bombs and the site made into a playground.
