Diplomat, poet, hedonist and traveller. Born Petworth House, Sussex. Advocated anti-Imperialism, and supported Irish nationalism. Legendary womaniser, one being William Morris's wife, Jane. Married for 37 years to Lady Anne Lytton, Byron's granddaughter via Ada Lovelace, with whom he founded the Crabbett Park Arabian Stud. Failed to enter parliament 3 times, on one occasion running his campaign from prison in Ireland. Grand-uncle to Anthony Blunt, the spy. Died Southwater, Sussex.
