Born in London as Wilfrid William Ashley. Politician who entered parliament in 1906. As minister of transport, he introduced one-way systems and roundabouts to London and other large cities. Elevated to the peerage in 1932 as Baron Mount Temple of Lee. His eldest daughter Edwina became the wife of Lord Louis Mountbatten. Died Broadlands,
