Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood

Categories: Art, Seriously Famous

A group of English painters, poets and critics, founded in 1848 by : J. E. Millais, D. G. Rossetti and W. H. Hunt. By the autumn they were joined by W. M. Rossetti, T. Woolner, J. Collinson and F. G Stephens. Given their interests it is strange to learn that, at this stage, none of them had been to Italy.
Associated: F. Madox Brown (was invited to join but chose not to), E. Burne Jones, W. Morris, Christina Rossetti and John Ruskin.
