Categories: Armed Forces

The 12th (County of London) Battalion, The London Regiment (The Rangers), was formed on 1 April 1908 by the amalgamation of regiments under the Territorial and Reserve Forces Act 1907. Their Wikipedia page gives details about the origins of the battalion and their battle honours. In 1937 it was renamed as The Rangers, The King's Royal Rifle Corps.

They are shown as '12th BATTALION (THE RANGERS)' on the London Troops war memorial in Threadneedle Street, London, WC2 and as 'THE RANGERS 12th COUNTY OF LONDON REGT' on the Chenies Street war memorial in Chenies Street, London, WC1.
