The Board of Guardians and Trustees for the Relief of the Jewish Poor Registered (known as the Jewish Board of Guardians) provided help for those who had been in the country for over six months. Founded by Lionel L. Cohen and Ephraim Alex who was its president until 1869. It occupied the Middlesex Street address, 1896 - 1956. the picture source website is rich in information.
