This school was founded in 1899 at the Albert Dock Seamen's Hospital by Patrick Manson, the Chief Medical Officer to the Colonial Office. The School moved to he Endsleigh Gardens site in 1920. The main school building opened in 1929 on Keppel Street, as the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
