Shahara Akhter Islam

Categories: Tragedy

Worked as a bank teller at the Co-op Bank, The Angel, Islington. The Tavistock Square memorial does not use 'Akhter' in her name.

Shahara Akhter Islam was born in 1985 in Whitechapel, the daughter of Shamsul Hasan and Romena Begum. Her birth was registered in February 1985 in the Tower Hamlets registration district.

She was killed, aged 20 years, on 7 July 2005 whilst travelling aboard a Route 30 bus that was targeted by suicide bomber Hasib Mir Hussain (1986-2005) at Tavistock Square. The Find a Grave website gives a short biography of her life.
