MP for Lambeth from 1865, and Lord Mayor 1868-9. In 1887 he and his brother Edwin funded a new building in Kensington for the Unitarians, see Essex Street Chapel. His nephew was Frederick Pethick-Lawrence.

Sir Francis Wyatt Truscott
Lord Mayor of London from 1879 to 1880. Alderman on the Bridge House Estates Committee, 1894. His son, George, was Lord Mayor from 1908 to 1909 and was the 1st Baronet Truscott of Oakleigh.
