Survey of London

Categories: Architecture, History

Founded by C. R. Ashbee in 1894, the first volume being published in 1900. With over 28 volumes published so far this is a research work-in-progress aiming to produce a comprehensive architectural survey of London.  The Bartlett explains the current status of the Survey and provides access to it in British History Online. We refer to it often, our Bible.

A book with the same title was written by John Stow and published in 1598/1603.
