Stuart Freeborn

Make-up artist. He worked on some of the most notable films of the 20th century, including Alec Guinness as Fagin in David Lean's 'Oliver Twist'. Worked for Kubrick on the three incarnations of Peter Sellers in 'Dr Strangelove' and again for '2001: A Space Odyssey'. In later years he designed the appearance of several extra-terrestrials in the Star Wars films.

Born in Leytonstone and grew up in Grove Green Road where the plaque has been erected.
