Courthouse and prison. The building was part of St Margaret's Church, which was closed during the reformation. It burned down in 1676 and was rebuilt in 1685. The functions moved to a new building off Mill Lane, (now the site of Hay's Galleria) and eventually closed in 1855.

Funded by William Niblett, Niblett Hall was built in 1932, survived WW2, but were later destroyed by fire and demolished in 1992. Replaced by the Littleton Building.
Ramirez's divorced wife's lover was murdered in Texas in 1998. Ramirez was indicted for solicitation of capital murder. In 1999 he was sentenced to death and executed in 2005.
