A history of Delaware County, Pennsylvania has a reference to a boy "about twelve years of age, when he entered Carpenters Company's Technical Institute, Stratford ... and pursued his studies there for three years." (He went on to become the Rev. John L. Foreman.)

From The Victoria university of Manchester: register of graduates: Frank (Owens) Dutton (1872- ) was Science Master here 1897-1904.

From Raw Materials: "The ‘Old Carpentarians’ are a group of ex-students from the Worshipful Company of Carpenters’ Technical College in Jupp road, Stratford that was open from 1891-1905. After the college close{d} a group of ‘Old boys’ kept in touch so they could share their experiences, keep in touch and catch up over annual dinners. Written memories and drawings are collected and shared within this wonderful ‘scrapbook’. Tales of the the beloved old Headmaster Mr Ping!" This image comes from that scrapbook, held by the Carpenters' Company, we believe.
