It stood to the north of Clapton Pond, probably on the site of the house of Thomas Wood, later Serjeant of the Pantry, who lived in Hackney in 1597 and was a vestryman in 1627. The building on the right of the picture might be the first synagogue in Hackney.

Sylvia Pankhurst lived here 1933 - 1956. Â It was demolished probably sometime 1970 - 1995 and the site is now occupied by the Tamar Square development.
