Lewisham V1 rocket attack

The worst V1 attack on South London. The rocket struck the busy street market at 09.41 on a Friday morning. Numbers reported vary, but about 52 people were killed and 124 very seriously injured. The force of the blast destroyed shops on both sides of the High Street.
