Milutin Alexander Velimirovich was born on 14 October 1953 in Pisek, Okres Písek, Jihočeský, Czechoslovakia (now called South Bohemia, Czech Republic), a son of Dr Alexander and Elisabeth Velimirovich who emigrated to the USA in 1964.

Our Picture Source and the Clipper Crew website give more information about him including that his employment commenced with Pan American World Airways in 1978.

He died, aged 35 years, on 21 December 1988 whilst working as the Purser aboard Pan AM Flight 103 travelling from London (Heathrow) Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York City, when it exploded over Lockerbie, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. His body was buried in Plot Bradlee Road, Lot 10279, Grave 1 in the Mount Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. He was survived by his wife Brenda, who was also a Pan Am flight attendant and from whom he had recently separated; his parents, and his brother, Sacha Velimirovich .

He is also commemorated on both the Memorial to all the Victims and the World Wings International plaque that are at Dryfesdale Cemetery, Dumfries Road, Lockerbie, DG11 1HZ, as well as on the memorial cairn in Arlington National Cemetery, 1 Memorial Avenue, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.

Probate records confirm that his residence in the UK had been 33 Dorset Waye, Heston, Hounslow, TW5 0NF and that when administration of his estate was granted on 14 March 1989 his effects totalled £100,044.
