Parliamentary division bell

The ringing of the bell summons MPs to their respective voting chambers. Apart from the Houses of Parliament, there are many other bells, mainly in local public houses and restaurants. Some MPs also have one in their private residences. The bells ring for eight minutes, after which the lobbies are shut.

In 2014, the count was: 384 bells within the Parliamentary estate, and 172 outside.
