He died as a result of a road traffic collision at the junction of Greys Inn Road and Clerkenwell Road, London, EC1, aged 25 years, on 14 June 1964. He was buried in the Front Section, Left Side, Row 16, of the Redford Cemetery, Greystones, County Wicklow, Ireland.
