Sir Alexander Russell Downer, KBE

High Commissioner for Australia 1964-72.  Known as Alick and not to be confused with his son, Alexander John Gosse Downer (b.1951) who was also High Commissioner from 2014 to 2018.

He died, aged 70 years, on 30 March 1981 and was buried in South Path 5 West - Vault ED in the North Road Cemetery, Cemetery Avenue, Nailsworth South Australia, Australia.
