Svitlana Tereschenko

Categories: Cyclist, Tragedy

Countries: Ukraine

Born Ukraine. Killed on a Friday at about 16:30 when hit by a left-turning tipper lorry at the treacherous Bow roundabout, local to where she lived. Aged 34.  The lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. At the inquest it was revealed tht the driver had probably overtaken her and then seen her coming up on the inside as he waited at the lights. When the light turned green he just ran her over from behind. But because she was in his blind spot at the point of the collision he will not be prosecuted. There is something wrong with our law. See her touching memorial site.
