Painter. Born Belfast. One of the "Glasgow Boys" he went on to become a successful portrait painter.
Artist, suffragette and founder of Artist Suffrage League in 1909. Born Dorset. Trained in stained-glass work. Lived and worked in Chelsea. The photo shows Lowndes in 1890.
Born Aberdeen. Winner of the Prix de Rome. Other work in London includes the 1963 Joy of Life group in the Hyde Park fountain, pictured by Ornamental Passions.
Opened the Subway Gallery in 2006.
