Plaque

Albert Bridge - opened

Inscription

Albert Bridge opened 1874

The rope-framed roundel at the top carries the crest for the RBofK&C, and looks new compared with the rest of the plaque. We're guessing that the current roundel replaced one naming the organisation that built the bridge, the Albert Bridge Company.

Site: Albert Bridge (2 memorials)

SW11, Albert Bridge

Copies of the 'opening' plaque are attached at knee height close to the tollbooths at the NE and SW ends of the bridge. The 4 troops plaques are attached to the tollbooths.
