Acknowledgement
The placement of this monument was possible thanks to the cooperation of the authorities of the borough of Richmond upon Thames: Prof. Marcial Echenique: Gen. Roberto Arancibia and the Anglo-Chilean Society and the generous contributions of Dr Edward Haughey: Antofagasta Holdings: B.A.T Industries: Kleinwort Benson Group plc: Rothschild & Sons Ltd: United Distillers and Vintners: and the Chilean Army, Navy and Air Force.
This bust, erected 200 years after O'Higgins left Richmond, was designed by Echenique (the plinth and setting presumably) but, according to VADS, the sculptor is unknown, which is odd for such a recently erected art-work.
