Chelsea Temperance Society, founded 1837. To the memory of William Henry Anscombe (for over 50 years Secretary) this stone was laid by his nephew Fredrick William Anscombe. January 8th 1908.

There are two stone plaques either side of the entrance, low on the wall, and two, rather classier, plaques in the entrance lobby. Reading left to right: Brass, Wright, Dillon, McCurrey, Dauncey, Anscombe.
