Ghost bike

(lost) Deep Lee

Erection date: 26/10/11

Inscription

Deep Lee, 24 years old. 3rd Oct. 2011. Rest in peace.

Killed on the first day of the new King's Cross campus of Central St Martin's College. We photographed the flowers that were placed the following day and the ghost bike installed a few weeks later. It was moved to the south side of Gray's Inn Road, near the tree. And then by 2016 it had gone.

N1, King's Cross

Cyclist killed by a lorry. The 2013 inquest report: "... unsurprising that the collision took place.... cyclists and trucks don't mix..." Deep Lee was killed in 2011; two years later the junction where she died is substantially unchanged and it seems there are no plans to improve it.
