Plaque

Finnish Seamen's Mission

Erection date: 7/7/1912

Inscription

This stone was laid on the 7th of July 1912 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the inauguration of the Finnish Seamen's Mission in London.
Psalm CXVIII:24

The bible reference Psalm 118:24 gives "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." A very general-purpose, feel-good, quotation.

Site: Finnish Seamen's Mission (1 memorial)

E14, Branch Road

The roof of this building is clearly of a more recent design and to our mind does no favours to the original building.
