Moorfields Eye Hospital - foundation stone

Inscription

This stone was laid by H.R.H. the Prince of Wales on behalf of H.M. the Queen on 28th May 1897.

Site: Moorfields Eye Hospital (2 memorials)

N1, City Road

These two inscriptions are either side of the entrance steps. The patient entrance is now around the corner and this grand entrance seems little used.  Ornamental Passions have featured a, frankly, more interesting architectural feature, on the 1933 extension, just to the north.
