This is a lovely plaque but the fireman's helmet on a plaque for a police constable is odd. It doesn't even seem as if a fire was involved.
The plaque is in the pavement towards the right of the frontage of the asylum site.
He lived here for nearly 50 years from 1936 until his death in 1983.
