The most visible result of the restoration is the creation of two atriums, north and south, from former service courtyards. These are, of course, available for hire, for weddings etc. Which is all fine. We wish the website copy-writers knew some basic Latin: 'atria' (or 'atriums') is the plural of atrium, so advertising the 'north atria' and the 'south atria' is just wrong.
2017: The Hackney Citizen reported: "Hackney Council held a secret £6,000 catered bash to celebrate a multi-million pound revamp of the Town Hall and to thank former mayor Jules Pipe for his 'contribution to Hackney'."
