Regency Estate opened by the Prince of Wales

Site: Regency Estate opened by the Prince of Wales (1 memorial)

SW1, Page Street, Probyn House

From the Conservation Area Audit we learn: The Regency Estate consists of 4 red brick mansion blocks mainly designed by Joseph and Smitham, built c.1903.  The stunning checkerboard Grosvenor Estate was designed by Lutyens in 1928-30. The cover photograph of that publication shows that the finials on the gate posts are like pawns on a chessboard.

The Arts and Craft style railings around the Regency Estate incorporate the portcullis symbol indicating Westminster City Council.
