This free-standing monument is to the north of the church. From War Memorials Online: "A tall Gothic structure of Barnack ragstone, with a statue of St George slaying the dragon, a lantern and a Latin cross on top. Located in the churchyard and visible from the high street through an alley. Dedicated 29th March 1921 as a memorial to the men of both St Mary Magdalene and St Matthias Churches. Associated with the name panel inside the church and the name panel at St Matthias".
