5th (City of London) Battalion, The London Regiment (London Rifle Brigade)

Categories: Armed Forces

Began as a Volunteer Rifle Corps with the title London Rifle Volunteer Brigade. When the London Regiment was formed in 1908 as part of the new Territorial Force, the LRB became the 5th (City of London) Bn The London Regiment (London Rifle Brigade).  Book of Remembrance held at St Botolphs without Bishopsgate. Their badge is one of the Fovant badges, carved into a hillside near their military camp.

Served in WW1. Their Wikipedia page gives an outline of how they were formed as part to the Territorial Force on 1 April 1908 until they were disbanded after WW1 in 1919.

On the London Troops War Memorial in Threadneedle Street, London, EC2, it is referred to as 5th Battalion (London Rifle Brigade).
