John Keats was a pupil at the school for about 7 years (1803-10). Charles taught him and encouraged his literary ambitions.
Went into a music publishing partnership with Alfred Novello (1810–96) and, 1828, married Mary Novello (1809–98) both children of Vincent Novello. 1849 they moved to Italy and Charles died in Genoa.
