Arthur Silver

Textile designer. Father of Rex and Harry

Born in Reading, the son of James and Emma Silver née Burnham. His father was an upholsterer and in 1861 they were living at 12 Duke Street, Reading and were still there in 1871. On the 8th August 1878 he married Isabella Charlotte Waleen in St Pancras, London and on the 1881 census they were shown as living at 6 Dalmeney Road, Islington and he was a Decorative Designer.  By 1890 they had moved to 84 Brook Green, Hammersmith were he established the Silver Studio. His estate amounted to  £1,379. 17s.11d.
