Atique Sharifi

Although commemorated on plaques as Atiq Sharifi, he was born as Atique Sharifi on 1 January 1981 in Afghanistan and entered the UK as a refugee in 2002. Living in Hounslow, he was a student at West Thames College, London Road, Isleworth, TW7 4HS, and worked as a pizza take-away shop assistant. His obituary can be found on the BBC News website.

He died, aged 24 years, on 7 July 2005 when travelling in the underground tunnel of the Piccadilly Line on the London Underground Railway between King's Cross and Russell Square underground stations that was targeted by a suicide bomber. The narrative verdict of his death can be found on the Coroner's Inquest Report.
