Charles Little

Charles Henry Little was born on 22 April 1918 the son of Walter Charles Little (1871-1922) and Daisy Eliza Little née Bradford (1882-1977). His birth was registered in the Holborn registration district. Electoral registers from 1931 show his widowed mother listed with John Jarvis Bradford (1908-1963) at 65 Herbert Grove, Hoxton.

The 1939 England and Wales Register states that he was a watch case maker living at 65 Herbert Grove with his mother who is shown as a milliner (hat trimmer) and John J. Bradford who was a fitter & turner (engineering).

He enlisted in the Middlesex Regiment, service number 6847995, and gained the rank of Serjeant. He was with their 2nd/7th Battalion when he was killed in action, aged 26 years, on 20 January 1945. He was buried in Plot 8, Row J, Grave 14, in the Florence War Cemetery, Via Aretina, 38 - 50061 Girone Compiobbi (FI) Tuscany, Italy.
