Dame Ida Mann

Ophthalmologist. Born Ida Caroline Mann at 67 Fordwych Road, West Hampstead. She was appointed as the Ophthalmic House Surgeon at St Mary's Hospital, London, followed by an honorary staff post at Moorfields Eye Hospital. She went on to run her own private practice in Harley Street. In 1949 she moved to Australia and made a study of the incidence of trachoma in the aboriginal race. Died at her home 56 Hobbs Avenue, Perth.
