Clarinettist. Born David Joseph Shepherd. He studied under a clarinettist from the Hamburg State Opera Orchestra while stationed there after World War II, and went on to play with many of the leading musicians and singers of the day. Died in the Macmillan Unit of Christchurch Hospital in Hampshire.
