Edward Hawkins

Private Edward Leonard Hawkins. He was born in 1916 in Poplar, London, the son of John William Hawkins and Hannah Eliza Hawkins, née Partington. He served in the 1st Battalion Cambridgeshire Regiment, service number 6020896, and was killed in action against the Japanese, aged 25 years, on 15 February 1942 at Braddell Road, Singapore. As he has no known grave, he is commemorated on Column 59 of The Singapore Memorial, Kranji War Cemetery, Woodlands Road, Singapore.
