Priest. Born in Heage, Derbyshire. Vicar of St.Michael's, Aspley Heath in Woburn Sands 1884-99, and Rector of St Paul's Covent Garden from 1899 until his death in a WW1 air raid. He was killed standing in a doorway as he was encouraging and consoling other shelterers.
St Paul's Covent Garden seems to have come through both wars unscathed so the doorway can't have been at the church.

Created in John Marshall's 1627 will to support the Anglican Church and still going strong in 2012.
Church recorded since the 13th century. Destroyed in the Great Fire 1666, rebuilt by Wren, demolished 1841 so that Threadneedle Street could be widened.
Vicar. Born circa 1568. He was chaplain to the Jamestown Settlement.
Monk at London Charterhouse. Exiled to the Charterhouse in Hull and then executed in York.
