Faouzia El-Wahabi

Categories: Tragedy

Countries: Morocco

Faouzia Rami was born in Larache, Morocco, circa 1975, where in 1995 she married Abdulaziz El-Wahabi. She accompanied her husband to the UK and they moved into Flat 182, Grenfell Tower, Grenfell Walk, London, W11 1TG, as council tenants, shortly after their first child, Yasin El-Wahabi, was born on 9 August 1996. They went on to have 2 further children, a daughter, Nur Huda El-Wahabi, who was born on 27 June 2001 and a son, Mehdi El-Wahabi, who was born on 22 February 2009.

She died, aged 42 years, together with her husband and children in the Grenfell Tower tragedy on 14 June 2017. At the subsequent inquiry it was said that the family lived on the 21st floor and that they had tried to escape down the stairwell but were forced back up, along with many others, by the dense smoke.

The Find a Grave website claims that she and her family are buried in the Gardens of Peace Muslim Cemetery, 57 Elmbridge Road, Ilford, IG6 3SW. The website gives much information about this lady.
