Fireman Albert Levenson

War dead non-military, WW2 i

Commemorated on a memorial as being a civilian who was killed in WW2. Includes mercantile marines and emergency services personnel.

Fireman Albert Levenson

Killed by a high explosive bomb dropped on Hindle House, Arcola Street.

Husband of Rebecca Levenson, lived at Hindle House Arcola Street Hackney. National Fire Service fireman based at Station 30 Bethnal Green. Injured at Globe Road and died at Mile End Hospital. So it seems he survived the bomb attack on his home only to die at work; possibly not a rare experience with firemen in the war. Also remembered on the National Firefighter's Memorial at St Pauls.

Named on the Hindle memorial as 'Fireman A Leveson'.
